This article explains every status you can see on a transaction in your business’s Vav account and what to do about each one.

Before you start

  • Open the transaction: go to Activity and tap the entry. The status is shown under the amount.

The statuses

StatusColourWhat it meansWhat to do
SettledGreenThe transaction is complete. The money has moved.Nothing — all done.
On its wayYellowThe transaction was sent and is being processed, for example a bank payout travelling to the recipient’s bank.Wait. It will change to Settled or Failed by itself.
PendingYellowThe transaction is created but not finished yet — for example it is waiting for funds or for a partner.Wait and refresh. If it stays pending unusually long, contact support with the Reference.
FailedRed, amount crossed outThe transaction did not go through. For money you sent, nothing left your account unless the detail page says otherwise.Open the transaction and read the Reason row, then try again or see the fix below.

Common failure reasons

The Reason row on a failed transaction shows why it failed, in plain words (for example “insufficient funds”). Typical causes:

  • insufficient funds — your balance was too low at the moment of sending. Top up and retry.
  • Provider problems — a temporary issue with a partner. Try again later.

What happens next

  • Statuses update automatically. You do not need to keep the app open.
  • A transaction never moves backwards from Settled. A Failed transaction stays failed — send again instead of waiting for it to recover.

Fees and limits for this action

  • None. A failed transaction does not cost you a fee from Vav.

Troubleshooting

  • Stuck on “On its way” — bank payouts can take from under a day to a few business days depending on the route. If it is far past that, contact support with the Reference.
  • Stuck on “Pending” — pull down to refresh (app) or reload the page (web). Pending transfers are checked and completed or failed automatically.

FAQs

Can I cancel a transaction that is Pending or On its way? No. Once created, a transaction completes or fails on its own.

Did I lose money on a Failed transaction? Normally no — a failed transaction means the money did not move. Check your balance; if something looks wrong, contact support with the Reference.

How long does “On its way” take? It depends on the type. Transfers between Vav users are instant. Bank payouts take from under a day (local routes) to 1–3 business days (international routes).

Why do I see a status in lowercase I don’t recognise? Rare in normal use — it is an uncommon state shown as plain words. Contact support with the Reference if you are unsure.
