1. Purpose and scope
Vav is the trading name of Sterick Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (Company Registration No. 80436340). References to “Vav”, “we” and “us” in this policy mean Sterick Limited.
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what Vav accounts, cards and features may and may not be used for. Vav accounts on vav.global are for businesses only. This policy applies to every business customer and to everyone a business allows to use its account. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Our partners (“Partners”) who provide the underlying financial services may apply additional restrictions, and those apply too.
2. General rules
You must use Vav only for lawful purposes, for the business that holds the account, honestly and in line with the information you gave us when you opened your account. You must not use Vav in a way that could harm Vav, our Partners, other customers or anyone else.
3. Prohibited activities
You must not use Vav to:
- launder money, finance terrorism or evade sanctions;
- commit or facilitate fraud, scams, impersonation, phishing or identity theft;
- receive or send funds connected with any crime, including stolen funds or ransom payments;
- open or operate an account for someone else, or let anyone other than your authorised users use your account, card or login;
- provide false or misleading information or forged documents;
- avoid limits, monitoring or checks, for example by splitting transactions or using multiple accounts;
- act as an unlicensed money transmitter, exchange or payment service for third parties;
- evade taxes or help others to do so; or
- breach the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of anyone.
4. Prohibited businesses
We do not serve the following, whether as customers or as counterparties we knowingly pay or receive from:
- illegal drugs, controlled substances without the required licences, and drug paraphernalia;
- weapons, ammunition and explosives;
- sexual content involving minors or non-consenting persons, human trafficking and exploitation;
- gambling, lotteries and betting;
- adult content and services;
- marijuana and cannabis products;
- pyramid and Ponzi schemes, “get rich quick” schemes and unregistered investment offerings;
- counterfeit or stolen goods;
- anonymous or privacy-enhancing transaction services, such as mixers and tumblers;
- shell banks and businesses that cannot show who owns or controls them; and
- any business operating in, or for the benefit of, sanctioned countries or persons.
5. Restricted businesses
Some businesses may be accepted only with our prior approval, enhanced checks and evidence of the necessary licences, for example: regulated financial services and money service businesses, pharmaceuticals and supplements, tobacco and vaping, alcohol, travel and ticket resellers, charities and non-profits, and high-value goods dealers. Tell us before using Vav for any of these.
6. Card rules
- Use Vav cards only for lawful purchases from legitimate merchants.
- Do not use a card for cash-equivalent transactions, to fund gambling or to buy prohibited goods.
- Do not share card details except with the merchant you are paying, and never with anyone who contacts you claiming to be Vav.
- Do not engage in transaction laundering or use a card to accept payments for another business.
7. Platform security and misuse
You must not interfere with the Platform, including by probing, scanning or testing its vulnerability without permission, introducing malware, scraping data, overloading it, reverse engineering it, or using automated means to access it except through interfaces we provide for that purpose.
8. Business customers
Business customers are responsible for everyone they allow to use their account and cards, must give access only to authorised people, and must remove access promptly when someone leaves or is no longer authorised.
9. Monitoring and enforcement
We and our Partners monitor use of the Platform. If we reasonably believe you have breached this policy, we may ask for information, refuse or reverse transactions where possible, suspend or close your account or cards, withhold funds as the law requires, and report the matter to the authorities. Where the law allows, we will tell you what we have done and why.
10. Reporting misuse
If you suspect misuse of Vav, including a scam that uses our name, please tell us at hello@vav.global.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
